After graduating Lansdowne-Aldan High School in 1975, Neil attended Ohio Wesleyan University, graduating in 1979 with a BA in History (emphasis Early American History). He continued his studies of American and European Military History at Ohio State University for two years. Neil served as the Senior Guide at Christ Church, Philadelphia from 1991 to 2020. In this capacity he developed an educational program for over 120,000 students and families a year.
